Job summary

Allied Universal in Sandston, VA is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable security services at a designated site with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts. The position offers part-time hours with anchor shifts and opportunities to earn more through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. A background check and required licenses may apply.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Respond to incidents, access‑control concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, and other designated areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific reporting procedures.
