Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Readiness in Houston, TX. Earn $16.50 per hour with fixed anchor shifts and options to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings, up to 40 hours per week.

This role emphasizes part‑time employment with flexible hours and opportunities to gain experience while supporting government locations through security procedures, incident response, and patrols.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post instructions and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with site‑specific requirements.
