Job summary

LeafSpring School in Ballantyne, NC is seeking a responsible Part-Time School Bus Driver to safely transport children to and from school and activities. The role requires a clean driving record, valid license, and a strong safety focus to ensure children arrive on time and in a welcoming setting.

You will work with school leadership and teachers to follow regulations, conduct inspections, and maintain accurate records, while providing a positive, caring experience for families.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Age 21 or older with ability to pass background checks.
• Experience with children preferred and safety-focused mindset.
• Willingness to complete background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from school, field trips, and activities.
• Follow state, local, and company transportation regulations and safety procedures.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure children are properly seated, supervised, and secured.
• Complete transportation and attendance documentation accurately.
• Maintain passenger counts and loading/unloading procedures.
• Communicate professionally with teachers, families, and children.
• Maintain a clean, safe bus environment.
• Report vehicle concerns, maintenance needs, accidents, or safety issues.
• Assist with loading and unloading children safely.
• Follow established routes and schedules.
• Provide a calm, positive environment for children on the bus.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
• Assist with other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Skills
