The Learning Lamp in Ebensburg, PA is seeking Substitute Aides to support students in school districts across Cambria, Somerset, and Bedford Counties. Hours are flexible and based on district schedules, with a pay rate of $10.00–$17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional and physical support, following individualized care plans, supporting classroom participation, and maintaining open communication with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training to ensure safety and security of students.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and staying for long periods.
• Previous experience with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and genuine interest in supporting diverse students.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with a team.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with activities of daily living and personal hygiene tasks.
• Support students in mobility and transferring as needed.
• Provide physical and emotional support to students with disabilities.
• Follow individualized care plans developed with teachers and nurses.
• Support classroom participation and assist with instructional materials.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff regarding progress.
• Promote independence and a positive, inclusive learning environment.
