Qualifications

• High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training (including mandated reporter, physical, TB tests).
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending, and prolonged movement during an eight-hour day.
• Experience with individuals with special needs or disabilities preferred.
• Patience, empathy, and genuine interest in supporting diverse learners.
• Ability to follow instructions, collaborate with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy related to student information.

Responsibilities

• Assist Students with Activities of Daily Living (toileting, grooming, dressing).
• Support students in mobility and transferring as needed.
• Provide physical and emotional support to students with disabilities.
• Implement individualized care plans in collaboration with teachers and nurses.
• Support classroom participation and assist with instructional materials and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff; attend meetings to discuss care plans.
• Encourage independence and foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
