Job summary

BioLife in Baltimore, MD is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join our team. Shifts run 4–6 hours per day, 3+ days per week to fit your life, with a paid, interactive training program to start. You will be integral to donor care and blood collection operations.

You will greet donors, perform venipuncture, monitor during donation, and assist with plasmapheresis equipment setup and troubleshooting. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift up to 5 lbs., with occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear due to exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
• 1+ years minimum experience in a customer or patient-facing role is helpful

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and manage donor floor flow.
• Perform venipuncture and operate plasmapheresis equipment per training.
• Monitor donors during donation and respond to donor reactions.
• Assist with setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with proper disposal.
