Job summary

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring for a part-time Professional Staff Nurse, ONC (RN) to support the medical oncology team at our Hanover, PA outpatient center. This position will work a 24-hour-per-week daylight schedule, Monday through Friday, as a Treatment/Infusion Nurse caring for a large practice of oncology patients.

Flexible part-time schedule with three consistent days per week (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM) and opportunities to participate in quality improvement and patient education

Qualifications

• Active participation in department quality improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development and teamwork.
• Ability to teach patients and families about care episodes.
• Uses critical thinking to identify issues affecting patient care.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts and uses evidence-based practice to improve clinical care.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development and supports the care team.
• Builds productive working relationships and communicates safety hazards identified in the workplace.
• Applies adult learning principles to teach patients, families, and staff as needed.
• Implements the nursing process to create a holistic plan of care and ensures comprehensive patient documentation.
