Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. in Livingston, NJ is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Tutor to support students in grades 6–8, covering pre-algebra and Algebra 1. Sessions occur in students' homes or at our Livingston, NJ office and are in-person, not online.

You will deliver tailored one-on-one tutoring, plan lessons, and communicate progress with parents while fostering a warm, encouraging approach to help students build math confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with strong math coursework or a math-related field.
• A degree in mathematics, math education, or a quantitative field is a plus; teaching certification is welcome.
• Master’s or PhD candidates are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s course, teacher’s expectations, and learning goals.
• Plan lessons and prepare materials aligned to what students are covering in class.
• Build fluency in core middle school math topics and help accelerate or reinforce learning.
• Maintain warmth and energy to engage students and support confidence in math.
• Track progress, adjust pacing and materials, and submit a brief session note after each tutoring session.
• Communicate clearly with parents and contribute to team practices.
