Job summary

Calvary Baptist Church is seeking a Maintenance & Janitorial Associate to oversee cleaning, upkeep, and repairs for the church facility. The role includes basic custodial tasks, administrative help for facilities, and coordination with Trustees and Senior Pastor.

The position is part-time and salaried, roughly 15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and paid time off. Starting compensation is $1500 per month, paid semi-monthly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to perform repair and maintenance tasks of low to moderate difficulty.
• Preference for contracting training or experience.
• Preference for knowledge and networks among local tradesmen.
• Dependable and hardworking.
• Self-starter with initiative and willingness to propose improvements.
• Ability to organize schedules and communicate with congregation/community.
• Some daytime and weekend availability; not a long commute.
• Not a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic janitorial services: cleaning, stocking, and maintaining readiness for events.
• Keep outdoor grounds trash-free and orderly.
• Perform repair/maintenance tasks: fixtures, walls, plumbing, electrical, appliances.
• Regularly inspect facility for unaddressed issues.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for major repairs/upgrades per Trustees.
• Be primary contact for building use; manage events calendar and requests.
• Maintain documentation and invoices related to work.
• Keep Trustees and Senior Pastor informed of needs and costs.
• Attend monthly check-ins with a report of activities and needs.
• Respond to emergencies (e.g., water leaks) or coordinate response.
