Job summary

The City of Pflugerville seeks a part-time lifeguard for the Monarch Recreation Center to monitor indoor and outdoor pools, slides, and water features while supporting aquatics programming. You will enforce rules, respond to unsafe conditions, perform rescues, and provide first aid as needed.

A flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, and school-year programming. On-the-job training is provided; candidates must be at least 15 with American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lifeguarding techniques and safety protocols.
• Ability to perform rescues and administer first aid/CPR as required.
• Comfort swimming and working in indoor/outdoor aquatic environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patrons and staff.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pools, slides, and water features to ensure patron safety.
• Enforce facility rules and respond to unsafe conditions.
• Perform rescues and administer first aid, CPR, and AED when needed.
• Support aquatics programming including swim lessons and classes.
• Maintain safety focus across multiple aquatic zones and adjust coverage.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of aquatics programs and equipment.
• Provide customer service and interact with patrons regarding safety and facility use.
• Coordinate with aquatics staff to ensure smooth program operations.
• Open and close facilities as assigned.
• Complete required trainings, drills, and skill evaluations.
