Job summary

Sheltering Arms Early Education and Family Centers is seeking a Teacher Aide to support a teaching team in caring for infants to Pre-K children. You will help implement planned activities, promote healthy eating, and maintain a safe environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with ECE experience, ability to lift and supervise, and a commitment to professionalism and ongoing learning within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of Early Childhood Education experience preferred.
• HS Diploma/GED and one of the following: CDA enroll within 12 months of hire; HS diploma plus course credits; CDA; Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC); Technical College Diploma (TCD); Associate degree; 60+ total hours toward Bachelor’s; Completed BA/BS.
• Able to lift and carry children and equipment as required; interact with children safely and supervise activities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development and early education practices; respectful to diverse cultures.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a group of children as part of a teaching team across infant to Pre-K classrooms.
• Promote healthy eating practices and supervise children during meals and play.
• Share routine duties with staff and maintain safety on playground, in toilets, and in classrooms.
• Assist in keeping rooms and areas neat and clean; ensure materials are prepared in advance.
• Interact with children and engage them in learning activities; implement planned activities.
• Assist Lead Teacher and Teacher in assessing children’s progress.
• Support positive guidance, social-emotional development, and family engagement.
