Job summary

Sheltering Arms is seeking a Teacher Aide to support a caring teaching team for children from infant to Pre-K. You will assist with daily care, safety, and developmentally appropriate activities, while promoting healthy habits and positive learning experiences.

You will collaborate with the Lead Teacher, engage families, and participate in ongoing training to stay current with licensing and best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years in early childhood education preferred.
• CDA or related certificate may be substituted for experience.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a group of children across infant to Pre-K as part of a teaching team.
• Promote healthy eating and assist with routine duties and cleanliness.
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate activities and outdoor learning.
• Support positive behavior through guidance and consistent routines.
• Establish safe classroom environments and enforce active supervision policies.
• Collaborate with Lead Teacher and other staff to assess children's progress.
• Greet families, encourage parent participation, and communicate concerns.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training.
