Job summary

Fitchburg State University invites applications for a part-time Professional Math Tutor for TRIO Student Support Services. You will provide targeted math tutoring to first-generation, low-income, and/or disabled students, helping them develop math skills and confidence to succeed academically.

The role offers in-person or virtual tutoring with a weekly schedule of Monday to Thursday, 3:30pm–5:00pm. The hourly rate is $30.00, through 05/06/2027, with non-benefited status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of college-level math tutoring/teaching experience.
• Experience with diverse student populations (first-generation, low-income, disabled).

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in algebra, calculus, statistics, and related courses.
• Assess student understanding and tailor sessions to individual needs and goals.
• Track progress and report findings to the TRIO SSS team; support study skills development.
