Job summary

The YMCA Hoover Branch in Hoover, AL is seeking a part-time Childwatch Attendant to create a safe, fun, and welcoming space for children. The role offers flexible hours and a chance to make a meaningful impact while supporting families.

You will supervise children, lead age-appropriate activities, assist with diaper changes and infant care as needed, and follow YMCA safety policies to ensure a positive, engaging experience for every child.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Passion for working with children of all ages.
• Positive, patient and dependable attitude.
• Ability to obtain required background checks and YMCA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a safe, caring environment.
• Lead games, activities, and crafts appropriate for children.
• Ensure safety through active supervision at all times.
• Assist with diaper changes, toileting, and infant feedings as needed.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
• Maintain a clean and safe Childwatch/YKIDS area.
• Follow YMCA policies and safety guidelines and attend trainings.
