Job summary

CARETenders, a part of LHC Group and UnitedHealth Group, seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide in-home therapy to restore patients’ physical abilities and independence.

Responsibilities include following the plan of care under the OT, documenting progress, and teaching patients and families. Requires OTA licensure, driver’s license, NBCOT certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Current OTA licensure in the state of practice.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Must be certified and in good standing with NBCOT.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
• Strong communication, writing and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing OT in home care and the plan of care under the supervising OT.
• Provide evidence-based therapy and instruction within the scope of the OTA.
• Observe, record and report patient responses to treatment to the nurse and physician.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver and other health-team members on therapy.
• Deliver care irrespective of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability or financial condition.
