Job summary

APPS Paramedical Services seeks dependable phlebotomists and medical assistants to perform mobile life and disability insurance examinations as independent contractors. You choose your availability and work around your current schedule, traveling up to 30 miles from home to complete examinations that take 15–45 minutes.

Must have phlebotomy skills, valid driver's license, and be able to pass a background check. Training is provided for EKGs and HIPAA compliance is required.

Qualifications

• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills.
• Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, EMT, LPN, RN, or similar clinical experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Pass a background check and maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Ability to travel within ~30 miles of home ZIP code and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic health screenings and medical histories.
• Measure height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and other required measurements.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood, urine, and sometimes saliva specimens.
• Perform EKGs when required — training provided.
• Complete examination paperwork and electronic documentation accurately.
• Prepare specimens for shipment and ensure shipping within 24 hours of collection.
• Provide professional service in clients' homes, workplaces, or other locations.
