Job summary

American Family Care provides general medical care under the direction of a licensed provider in outpatient clinics. This role supports walk-in patients across locations, taking vitals, collecting medical history, and preparing patients for examinations.

Responsibilities include explaining procedures, coordinating tests, administering medications, drawing blood, and maintaining accurate documentation, while delivering quality patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
• Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation
