Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our clinical laboratory team. The role involves performing venipunctures, preparing blood specimens, and assisting with non-clinical tasks under established policies and procedures.

Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or GED; phlebotomy certification preferred and experience in a healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Performs venipunctures and obtains/prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
