Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a phlebotomist to join its laboratory team. The role involves processing samples and performing venipunctures in line with CMS CLIA standards and Piedmont policies. You will support clinical and non-clinical tasks under the supervision of a licensed technologist to ensure accurate, reliable lab results.

Education required includes a high school diploma or GED. Experience in phlebotomy or laboratory support is preferred, with substitutions allowed for students

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor, or laboratory assistant. Required or No experience required Current enrollment in a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program may be substituted for experience Required

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
• Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists with both clinical and non-clinical tasks while working under the direct supervision of a licensed medical technologist/ technician to ensure that accurate, reliable results are generated by the laboratory.
