Hingham Public Schools is seeking a Kids In Action Substitute in Hingham, MA to provide flexible, as-needed coverage for the Kids In Action program serving Preschool through Grade 5. The substitute maintains a safe, engaging, and structured environment and assists with daily activities.

The role emphasizes supervision, flexibility, and reliable performance with opportunities to support STEM, arts & crafts, games, and movement activities while following program guidelines and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and handle short notice.
• Reliable and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and ensure safety and well-being of children.
• Assist with activities across STEM, arts and crafts, homework, group games, outdoor and gym activities, music and dramatic play.
• Encourage engagement of children in activities with peers.
• Keep spaces clean, neat and organized.
• Support positive behavior management per program guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with staff and follow directions from the Team Leader.
• Follow school and program safety and emergency procedures.
