Job summary

Fastenal Company seeks an Internal Auditor to join the team. The role is full-time with a flexible location able to office from any USA branch except CA, WA and OR. Onboarding and performance goals may lead to a flexible schedule after the initial period.

You will document processes, assist with internal controls, and perform audit tests while analyzing financial and operational data. Travel may be required and the position reports to the Internal Audit Manager.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and pursuing/holding an Accounting or related degree or have relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Highly motivated with strong self-direction and customer-service orientation.
• Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities.
• Solid problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making.
• Good math aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to travel.
• Demonstrates ambition, integrity and teamwork.
• Pass the required drug screen (US, Puerto Rico and Guam).

Responsibilities

• Document processes and procedures across Fastenal Company finance departments.
• Assist with internal control design, documentation, and implementation.
• Perform audit test plans to ensure compliance with accounting requirements and standards.
• Conduct analytical analyses of financial and operational data.
• Investigate reported or suspected unethical activity.
• Complete special projects and assist other finance departments as needed.
