Job summary

Howard University is seeking Standardized Patients to simulate medical scenarios and assist in teaching essential clinical skills to health sciences students. Training is mandatory and ongoing, with roles involving history-taking, physical examination, communication, and feedback delivery.

SPs may be observed via video or live windows and must adhere to professional attire during sessions. Hours vary by course schedules; the role includes strict checklists, feedback provision, and a commitment

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Must be legally allowed to work in the United States.
Must be computer literate and proficient with software.
Must successfully complete HU Introduction to Standardized Methodology workshop for scheduling.
Experience as an SP or in a healthcare simulation setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history, behavior, and physical findings, accurately.
Provide feedback to learners using structured checklists and verbal guidance.
Wear professional clinical attire and conduct sessions on camera or via observation windows.
Be flexible with scheduling and adapt to course needs and teaching sessions.
Follow all policies and procedures of the Center and HU.
