Nurse Next Door San Mateo is seeking compassionate Home Care Aides to help seniors remain at home with personalized, nonmedical care. Flexible hours range from 10 to 40 hours per week, with morning, afternoon and overnight shifts available in California.

As a Home Care Aide you will follow each client’s care plan, assist with ADLs, meals, hygiene, transport, and companionship while meeting state registration and training requirements and maintaining clear records and timely communication with

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Current California Home Care Aide Registry registration.
• Completion of a criminal background check and disclosure of any history.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Self-directing with minimal supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill and frail.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Execute the client care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
• Assist clients with ADLs within the scope of practice.
• Assist with personal hygiene and bathing/dressing.
• Assist with bed transfers, positioning and ambulation.
• Support prescribed exercises taught by health personnel.
• Plan and prepare meals, including therapeutic diets.
• Assist with bathroom needs and incontinence care.
• Provide light housekeeping, laundry, shopping and companionship.
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed.
• Report changes in condition to the administrator or care designer.
• Document services performed accurately.
• Drive clients to appointments or run errands as needed.
• Record all hours worked accurately.
