Job summary

Learning Care Group, Inc. in San Antonio is seeking a dedicated Food Specialist/Child Care Cook to support daily meal preparation and service for children and staff.

You will create home-style, nutritious meals within the school menu and budget, while ensuring adherence to USDA, licensing, and health department requirements. Inventory will be managed and meals distributed to classrooms. Flexibility in schedule is valued.

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
• A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations.
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school menu and budget, and prepare meals/snacks for children and staff; distribute food to classrooms.
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director and incorporate USDA, licensing, and health department regulations.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
