Job summary

AppleTree Early Learning Public Charter School in Washington, DC seeks a Floating Teaching Assistant to support instructional activities across campuses when staff are absent or coverage is needed.

Under the Every Child Ready model, you will assist with social, emotional, and cognitive development. You may also support Before Care/Extended Day programming and on-site operations as needed; hours are 9:30-6pm.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an early childhood environment
• Energetic, reliable and good communication with staff, parents and children
• Knowledge of basic office practices and computer skills (Google Suite, MS Office)

Responsibilities

• Support instructional activities for the school during regular and extended day schedules
• Assist with implementing the Every Child Ready instructional model when substituting for teachers
• Supervise children during indoor/outdoor activities and support Extended Day operations
• Support front desk, events, meals and other operational tasks as needed
