Job summary

Bright Horizons is seeking a Substitute Teacher on-call in the San Mateo area to join an inspiring team dedicated to nurturing young learners. You will support multiple centers and age groups, with flexible on-call schedules that fit your life and the center needs.

You'll assist with activities, maintain open communication with families, and help keep a safe, clean classroom following Bright Horizons policies. This role emphasizes hands-on care and learning in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required.
• 12 ECE units completed preferred: Child Development, Child Family Community and 2 curriculum courses. If applying for an Infant or Toddler position the Infant/Toddler class is required as one of the curriculum courses.
• 1 year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
• CDA, Associate, or bachelor's degree in early education or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child's daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center or in nearby locations.
