Job summary

Bright Horizons Family Solutions, LLC. is seeking an on-call Substitute Teacher to support multiple classrooms and age groups across the San Mateo area. You’ll assist with activities, communicate with families, and help maintain a safe, engaging environment in Bright Horizons’ centers.

The role emphasizes flexibility, reliability, and adherence to safety procedures, with opportunities to gain experience across centers and age groups. Local on-site work in California is required.

Qualifications

• Must pass state and company background checks.
• 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required.
• 12 ECE units completed preferred; Infant/Toddler class required for Infant/Toddler positions.
• 1 year of experience in child care, daycare, or preschool settings preferred.
• CDA, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in early education or related field preferred.
• Transcripts required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of the children.
• Maintain open communication with parents, sharing their child's daily milestones.
• Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines.
• Provide support in any classroom or age group where teaching coverage is needed across a center or nearby locations.
