Job summary

The New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) seeks a Court Services Coordinator (Flex) in the Bronx to support pretrial operations and ensure timely arraignment processing. You will supervise Pretrial Associates, manage data collection, and collaborate with court partners to implement release assessment and bail expediting initiatives.

The role requires evening and weekend availability, strong communication, and knowledge of the NYC criminal justice system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Social Service/Social Work, Criminal Justice, Criminal Psychology, or related field.
• 2 years of employment as a PTA or comparable experience for internal candidates.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer systems.
• Willingness and ability to work any assigned tour, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable acting as a liaison and advocate across all pretrial settings.
• Knowledge of the NYC Criminal Justice system or prior pretrial justice experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills, data collection, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Explain CJA programs and release assessment tool to peers and stakeholders.
• Engage in direct service with vulnerable populations across the pre-trial continuum.
• Collaborate with Borough Manager to implement strategies diverting at-risk populations.
• Provide enhanced notification and support for court preparation and attendance.
• Coordinate bail payment facilitation and family contact pre- and post-arraignment.
• Participate in training on rapport, conflict resolution, and motivational interviewing.
• Supervise Pretrial Associates and interns; monitor data entry and reports.
• Oversee daily site operations, workflow, scheduling, and quality assurance.
• Train new PTAs and evaluate performance during probation and tenure.
