Job summary

The NYC Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) is seeking a Court Services Coordinator for the Bronx to oversee Pretrial Services operations, supervise Pretrial Associates, and ensure timely arraignment processing while coordinating with NYPD, Department of Corrections, and the Office of Court Administration.

The role includes data collection, program implementation, and quality assurance, with responsibilities spanning operational, leadership, and planning duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service/Social Work, Criminal Justice, Criminal Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer systems essential.
• Willingness and ability to work any assigned tour, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfortable acting as a liaison and advocate across all pretrial settings; work with Central Booking, court, community, etc.
• Knowledge of the NYC Criminal Justice system and/or pretrial justice work preferable.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills, data collection, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Possesses expertise in understanding, applying, and explaining CJA programs and release assessment tool to peers and stakeholders.
• Engages in direct service with vulnerable populations across the pre-trial continuum.
• Collaborates with Borough Manager to inform and implement strategies for diversion from pretrial detention while maintaining public safety.
• Provides enhanced notification and support for vulnerable populations to support court preparation and attendance.
• Collaborates with Operations staff to improve bail payment facilitation and family contact pre- and post-arraignment.
• Participates in training on building positive relationships, conflict resolution, and motivational interviewing, applying skills on the job.
