The Kroger family of companies is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker in our Fenton, MI store. You will greet customers, process transactions at the checkout, and ensure safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle cash and various payments, adhere to policy guidelines, and assist customers with product questions while maintaining high service standards and belonging to a team that values respect and integrity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in the checkout area.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, and other tender types according to policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay updated with ads and promotions.
• Ensure food safety regulations are followed and maintain a safe environment.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
• Provide helpful information about products and services to customers.
