Job summary

Kroger is hiring a part-time cashier in Lake Orion, MI to deliver outstanding customer experiences at the checkout. You will greet customers, process transactions, and help with product questions while adhering to all store policies and safety guidelines.

You will operate the POS system, handle various tender types, and maintain a welcoming, organized checkout area. Prior Bagger/Courtesy Clerk experience is valued, as is a strong team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Knowledge of POS system operations and checkout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers at the checkout area.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Understand POS and handle cash, checks, cards, EBT, coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash handling limits and loss prevention guidelines.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Stay current with ads and promotions; report pricing discrepancies.
• Comply with safety, food safety and maintenance procedures.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with questions.
• Handle customer issues in a respectful, non-confrontational manner.
