Job summary

AMN Healthcare Language Services is seeking a freelance ASL Medical InPerson Interpreter to provide on-site interpretation in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The role requires NAD/RID certification, HIPAA training, and state licensure where applicable.

You will join a team focused on empowering face-to-face communication between Deaf/HOH patients and healthcare providers via the AMN IPI app. The position offers flexible sessions across medical settings, with opportunities to work with multiple facilities

Qualifications

• National certification at or above NAD level 4, RID CSC, CI/CT, CDI, NIC or BEI Advanced.
• Extensive knowledge of NAD/RID Code of Professional Conduct and Deaf Culture ethics.
• Familiarity with ADA and other laws affecting medical interpreting.
• HIPAA training completed within the last year.
• State licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective onsite interpreting service for consumers.
• Exhibit professional appearance and punctuality for shifts.
• Adapt quickly to new technologies used in the app and workflow.
• Adhere to interpreter ethical standards and medical context requirements.
• Respect LEP clients and diverse cultural backgrounds during procedures.
