Job summary

Merc Mercer is seeking a Tutor for the 2026-2027 America Reads/America Counts program in Macon. The position involves enhancing the reading and math skills of K-8 students through afterschool programs.

As an ARAC tutor, you’ll control your tutoring schedule and participate in required trainings. Ideal candidates should be Mercer students with a federal work-study award, and have a civic mindset and ability to work with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Must be available to tutor after school for a minimum of two hours per week and a maximum of 20 hours.
• Ability to pass a background check for the Bibb County School District.
• Previous experience working with children in a mentoring or tutoring capacity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend scheduled tutoring sessions.
