Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers is seeking an enthusiastic After-School Program Leader (Floater) to support multiple sites in Hawthorne, CA. This part-time role offers 20-25 hours per week with shifts that vary by location, typically 1:00 PM to 5:00/6:00 PM, and reports to the Site Coordinator.

The role emphasizes safe, engaging activities for about 20 youths per site and requires travel between sites as needed. The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED (Associate's degree preferred), strong communication,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field is preferred.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
• Willingness and ability to travel between assigned program sites as needed; travel typically limited to one site per day.
• Experience in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and work with children and youth from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for students, both physically and emotionally.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful culture that values diversity.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities supporting whole-child development, including social-emotional learning and leadership.
• Monitor student attendance and participation for consistent engagement.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, staff and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with staff to plan culminating events and activities celebrating achievements.
