Job summary

Arauco North America, Inc. is hiring a Flex/Utility Technician in Bennettsville. The role supports plant operations on a day schedule (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) and may require nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call duties based on operational needs.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and prior manufacturing experience. Training is provided for equipment operation and safety protocols. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

This role is primarily scheduled Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. Candidates must also be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call as operational needs require.

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Additional education is a plus
  • Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery
  • Must lift 50 lbs. and walk/stand for a minimum of 12 hours. Walking up and down stairs and throughout the mill for 12 hours
  • We prefer prior use of a forklift (12 months) and prior work in a manufacturing environment
  • Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures.

  • Starting rate of pay is $20.68/hour, plus a profit share/gain share program. This ratewill increase after satisfactory completion of 6-month probationary period and level qualifications (including testing and performance assessment)

In this role, you would:

  • Maintain safe and consistent housekeeping throughout the Raw Board Press and surrounding production areas, including removal of wood fiber, waste, spills, and other potential fire hazards
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, floor sweepers, Guzzlers, skid steer loaders, manlifts, gas monitors, and required respirators after completing appropriate training
  • Follow all LOTO, confined space, fire safety, PPE, SOP, and other established safety procedures
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities, including Minimax system inspections and other assigned PMs
  • Support equipment cleaning during maintenance outages and provide guidance to contractors or serve as an attendant during confined space work when required
  • Communicate area performance, equipment concerns, and upset conditions with the Control Room, Quality, Maintenance, and Leadership teams
  • Create maintenance notifications for equipment issues and follow up as needed to help ensure work is completed
  • Participate in required safety programs and training, report incidents or near-misses, and help maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible workplace
  • Assist with additional work throughout the mill as needed
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, chemicals, and high temperatures, including physical activity such as standing, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling
