Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Flex – Unarmed in Costa Mesa, CA. The role uses a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts across multiple sites, offering flexible scheduling and hands-on experience in healthcare, education, finance, and more.

The position requires standing for long periods, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work irregular shifts. Competitive benefits are provided, with a pay rate of $20.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license if operating a company or customer vehicle.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• No prior experience required.
• Be at least 18 years of age (21 if armed in some states).
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio/console equipment and communicate with the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police/fire department in case of emergencies.
• Warn violators of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking).
• Permit authorized persons to enter and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal of property.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications in line with site Post Orders.
