Sunstates Security is hiring Flex Unarmed Security Officers in the Lockbourne, OH area. All days and shifts are available. Pay rate is $19.76/hr with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

The Flex Officer role is crucial for continuous service, with shifts assigned to meet operational needs. You will work at various posts and locations as needed, with flexible scheduling and strong training support.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and control inbound and outbound access for employees, visitors, vendors, and commercial drivers while ensuring compliance with site security procedures.
• Verify driver documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), purchase orders, trailer numbers, seal numbers, and load information for accuracy and site authorization.
• Inspect trailers, seals, and cargo for signs of tampering, damage, safety concerns, or unauthorized activity before granting access or departure.
• Maintain accurate records by completing truck logs, visitor logs, badge logs, shift reports, and other required security documentation.
• Process inbound and outbound shipments using designated systems, including data entry into SAP and other site‑specific applications.
• Verify employee, contractor, and temporary worker credentials, issue temporary badges when authorized, and enforce facility access control procedures.
• Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of the facility, warehouse, parking areas, and perimeter to identify safety hazards, security risks, suspicious activity, or policy violations.
• Communicate effectively with receiving departments, supervisors, drivers, visitors, and site personnel to coordinate deliveries, trailer assignments, and access approvals.
• Provide professional customer service while maintaining a strong security presence, handling visitor inquiries, directing traffic, and enforcing company policies with courtesy and professionalism.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, equipment concerns, and unusual situations while documenting findings and communicating critical information through shift pass‑down reports and established reporting channels.

Flex Officer Explanation

The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The flex officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call‑offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel.

Scheduling Expectations

The Scheduling Parameters And Expectations For a Flex Officer Are Different From Those Of An Employee Assigned To a Fixed Post. As a Flex

• You will be trained at various posts and /or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some of your shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted with the new week’s schedule. Sometimes you will be called with short notice and asked to come in to cover for someone who is unable to work their shift.
• You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time that would normally fall within your availability described on this sheet, you must communicate this with your supervisor, so they know not to schedule you.

For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts for which you are called in, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company.

A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Security Officer will read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP and will be able to act quickly and efficiently according to such directives.
