Allied Universal is hiring a Security Guard Flex to work across various sites in Grand Rapids, MI. Expect 30-40 hours per week with a mixed schedule, including last-minute shifts, managed via a self-scheduling program.

You will patrol sites on foot or by vehicle, monitor access, respond to incidents, and maintain logs. The role emphasizes adaptability, reliability, and customer service excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Available to work varying shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last‑minute shift scheduling.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Warn violators of rule infractions (loitering, smoking, etc.).
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal within client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors courteously and professionally.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.
