Flex Relief Officer / Flex Security Control Room Officer (Dual Role)
Location: Mesa, AZ
Salary: $22.00 - $24.18 per hour
A current Arizona Guard Card is required.
Security Relief Officer Responsibilities
- Acknowledge and greet all guests in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Verify credentials of incoming and outgoing individuals/vehicles.
- Assist in protecting others and equipment while enforcing policies and procedures.
- Monitor and detect any suspicious behavior to assist in preventing vandalism, theft, or other criminal behavior.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms.
- Patrol the perimeter (interior/exterior) to identify potential safety and security risks.
- Warn violators of infractions such as loitering, smoking, or possession of prohibited items.
- Respond to calls of distress, alarms, or emergencies (fire, injuries, unauthorized individuals) by contacting local first responders.
- Identify and report any safety, security breaches, or unusual circumstances in a timely manner.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of required documentation (reports/documents).
- Ensure all rules/regulations are enforced and followed.
- Perform other duties determined by Management.
Security Control Room Officer Responsibilities
- Push/report all operational matters in real‑time directly to the SOC Manager.
- Provide excellent customer service to all parties encountered while on duty.
- Act on all customer‑service related calls and either resolve them personally or refer issues to the appropriate individuals; manage communications for emergency and non‑emergency calls for service, including phone and email workstations.
- Monitor email inboxes, work order service requests, and all communication devices; prioritize and process incoming information according to procedure.
- Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and reviewing schedules.
- Assist in the supervision and management of a team of security officers, including training, coaching, development, and support.
- Handle all escalated security issues or emergency situations appropriately; coordinate emergency incidents with the Security Team and notify, assist, and direct external emergency personnel and internal Emergency Response Team as necessary.
- Acknowledge alarms and dispatch personnel as needed.
- Participate in regular training and scenario‑based security drills.
- Understand and execute emergency SOC protocols and general service SOC protocols.
- Perform SOC‑related projects and tasks as requested by the SOC Manager or Director of Operations.
- Compile daily SOC activities into daily shift reports; ensure detailed shift pass‑downs are issued and followed; compile monthly, quarterly, and annual SOC statistical data; author incident reports as described in SOC protocols.
- Perform other tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid AZ Security License mandatory
- Valid and clean driver's license
- High School Diploma
- Professional demeanor and appearance
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum of one year of security experience
- Must pass pre‑employment screening (background and drug)
- Physical ability to perform occasional crouching, climbing stairs, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking for extended periods of time
