Job summary

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with Future for Kids to offer mentor-driven out-of-school programs focused on academics, athletics, and ethics. This CSLP student-worker position supports these programs and is approved as community service under 34CFR675.2(b).

The role is limited to 20 hours per week during the academic year for full-time GCU students. The position involves assisting staff with programming activities, leading program execution when needed, and building rapport with youths

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s or master’s program at GCU.
• Maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 (bachelor) or 3.0 (master) and SAP good standing.
• Arizona Level1 fingerprint clearance card required.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with programming activities such as games, behavior management, and mentor support.
• Take the lead in program execution when required.
• Build strong rapport with participating youths and mentors.
• Assist with set-up, clean-up, tabling, and recruitment at each program.
• Attend Monday meetings from 11am to 1pm.
• Visit assigned school sites at least two of the four program days per week (minimum availability of 10hours per week).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
