Job summary

Grand Canyon University (GCU) seeks a CSLP student worker to support community outreach in partnership with Rehoboth CDC. The role is part-time, up to 20 hours per week during the academic year, located in Phoenix, AZ.

Duties include supervising youth up to 18 during activities, assisting with planning, attendance, records, and dinner distribution; scheduling times Mon-Fri afternoons and summer hours.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full‑time student at GCU in a bachelor’s or master’s program.
• Maintains a 2.0 GPA (bachelor) or 3.0 GPA (master).
• Good financial and academic standing with the university.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and engage with youth up to 18 years old during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Assist with planning, conducting, setting up, and breaking down activities.
• Assist with attendance taking, maintaining participant records, and dinner distribution.
• Availability: Mon–Fri 2:30 pm–6:30 pm; Jun & Jul 8:30 am–2:30 pm.

Position Summary

Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3). In partnership with Rehoboth CDC, this Community Service Learning Program (CSLP) student worker will support community outreach during operating hours while not exceeding 20 hours per week during the academic year.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor and engage with youth up to 18 years old during indoor and outdoor activities such as arts and crafts, video games, basketball, and skateboarding.
• Assist with planning, conducting, setting up, and breaking down activities.
• Assist with attendance taking, maintaining participant records, and dinner distribution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Availability: May Monday–Friday 2:30 pm–6:30 pm; June and July Monday–Friday 8:30 am–2:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as a full‑time student at GCU in a bachelor’s or master’s program.
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA (bachelor) or 3.0 GPA (master).
• Good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the university.
• Passion and willingness to help others succeed.
• Strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
• Reliable transportation.
• Previous mentoring experience a plus.
• Second language speaking ability a plus.
• Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be reviewed for FWS‑eligibility and awarded FWS.

Compensation and Duration

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage. Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027.
