Job summary

Latham Centers, Inc. is seeking compassionate Flex Direct Support Professionals to support our Children’s Program in Brewster, MA. This flex role offers the opportunity to work throughout the program based on staffing needs, providing direct care, supervision, and encouragement to students.

We offer employee housing on Cape Cod, paid training, and career growth. Full-time, 40 hours per week, with a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Flexibility to cover the Children’s Program as needed.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Compassionate, patient, and child-focused mindset.
• Ability to intervene safely during extreme behavioral situations.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• CPI certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with children or disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, supervision, encouragement, and support to children with complex special needs.
• Work throughout the Children’s Program based on staffing and program needs.
• Support students with daily living skills, personal care, meals, recreation, and other activities.
• Help create a structured, safe, and positive environment for students.
• Implement individualized support and behavior plans under the direction of program leadership.
• Encourage students to develop independence, social skills, and community-based skills.
• Communicate important student information, observations, and concerns with team members and supervisors.
• Complete required documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
• Respond appropriately and compassionately to behavioral or crisis situations.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all Latham Centers policies and procedures.

Flex Direct Support Professional - Children's Program

Latham Centers is seeking compassionate and dependable Flex Direct Support Professionals to support our Children's Program. Compensation: $21.97–$23.75 per hour (based on experience)

Requirements

• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to support children with disabilities
• Ability to safely intervene during extreme behavioral situations
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• One year of experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred, but not required
