Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Vehicle/Equipment Repair Tech - Journey to maintain and repair UNC-owned fleet vehicles and grounds equipment, supporting Fleet Services across campus. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine maintenance to keep 800+ vehicles in service.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid NC driver's license (and the ability to obtain a NC State Inspector's License within six months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
• Experience in the automotive repair field encouraged or required.
• Must obtain NC State Inspector's License within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the repair and maintenance of 800+ UNC-owned vehicles and equipment; oil changes, tune-ups, brake service and engine work.
• Diagnoses and repairs computer-controlled systems and performs preventative maintenance.
• Requires a valid NC Driver's License and ability to obtain NC State Inspector's License within six months.
