Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Hampton VA Medical Center, Environmental Management Service, Hampton, Virginia, is seeking a Motor Vehicle Operator Leader. You will manage a fleet of about 118 vehicles, issue vehicles, inspect assets, and maintain fleet records while training staff on safety.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license, Class B and a CDL.
• Must pass Physical Fitness Inquiry for Motor Vehicle Operators.
• Must complete recurring training on use of GSA vehicles and defensive driving.
• Maintains vehicle fleet records and performs inspections.

Responsibilities

• Issue vehicles to VAMC staff and inspect fleet for damages.
• Schedule state inspections and car repairs as required.
• Maintain mandatory vehicle fleet records and collect credit card receipts.
• Enter information in FAST, GSA Drive-Thru, and Fed-FMS systems.
• Operate buses, sedans, trucks and shuttles up to 26,000 lbs gross weight.
