Kings County Public Works Department seeks a dependable Fleet Service Attendant to support the County’s vehicle fleet. You will assign and dispatch motor pool vehicles, keep accurate computerized records, inspect and service fleet units, and assist daily operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on organization and teamwork across departments. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year of clerical or automotive support experience, and a valid CA driver’s license.

Formación

• Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• One year of general clerical duties or automotive shop experience.
• Valid California driver's license at time of appointment.
• Ability to pass background investigation and fingerprint check, and to be deputized by Kings County Sheriff’s Department.

Responsabilidades

• Assigns and schedules motor pool vehicles and dispatches them to user departments.
• Maintains records of vehicle assignments, mileage, service dates, and documents in reports/spreadsheets.
• Ensures vehicles are clean; fuels, washes, and addresses interior/exterior conditions.
• Performs minor preventive maintenance and coordinates repairs with mechanics.
• Takes vehicle repair requests and prepares work orders; supervises related tasks as needed.
• Picks up and delivers vehicles; may supervise trustee/incarcerated individuals as assigned.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
