Job summary

County of Santa Clara seeks a General Automotive Service Worker to support the Vehicle Services division. The role includes inspecting vehicles, performing routine maintenance, and assisting mechanics with repairs and parts handling.

A valid California driver’s license is required; there may be lifting up to 70 pounds and occasional overtime. ASE certification within six months may be required for some positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in automotive service is preferred.
• Must pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for service needs and perform basic maintenance.
• Service vehicles with gas, oil, air, and water.
• Replace minor accessories and perform tire repairs.
• Maintain records and assist in parts stock control.
• Operate County vehicles to relocate equipment.
• Prepare service request forms and keep records.
