Job summary

Recology is seeking a Mechanic Assistant to support servicing, maintenance, inspection, and repairs of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, ongoing operations. Responsibilities include scheduling, servicing, oil and filter changes, and maintaining work orders.

Role requires 2–4 years of mechanical experience, valid driver’s license (CDL possible within 6 months), and willingness to upgrade skills through training. On-site role in Santa Rosa, CA with benefits.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of progressive mechanical experience.
• Experience with hydraulic equipment, welding and light fabrication, and maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, service and repair vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Check oil and fluid levels, change lubricants and filters, and maintain work order records.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety practices.
• Provide safety inspections of vehicles/equipment to state standards including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Attend training to upgrade skills as vehicles/equipment evolve.
• Collaborate with drivers to determine repair needs and verify repairs with operators.
