Job summary

Southern Tire Mart at Pilot is hiring a tire service technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for a range of vehicles, from passenger cars to industrial trucks. You will diagnose issues on semi-trucks, conduct fleet maintenance, and assist with safety-compliant roadside calls, TPMS use, and inventory handling.

The role requires 18+ years of age, a clean driving record, and flexibility for overtime and variable hours. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Overtime may be required.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred.
Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs.
Physically demanding work and flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including Commercial Tires, HVAC, Brakes, Steering & Suspension, PM Inspections, Drivetrain, Electrical Systems.
Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and counts.
Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
