Job summary

GPC in Dallas seeks a transportation logistics coordinator to manage and coordinate transportation logistics for timely, efficient movement of goods. You will schedule shipments, work with carriers and vendors, monitor performance, and resolve issues during transit.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and knowledge of TMS and MS Office. Experience with McLeod software and forklift/hostler duties is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
• One year of experience operating a Forklift or two years Hostler experience.
• High school diploma; a degree in logistics or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on expected delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain records of shipments, costs, and documentation.
• Handle delays, damage, or loss and find solutions.
• Collaborate with DCs, carriers, and customer service to streamline processes.
• Analyze transportation costs and recommend efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on transportation activities and performance metrics.
• Operate dock activities and perform Hostler duties as needed.
