Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Baton Rouge is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair all tire types. You will troubleshoot commercial vehicles, perform fleet inspections, and respond to service calls with a company truck. Safety and accuracy are essential as you load inventory and support stock counts.

Applicants should have a valid license, pass a drug screen, and be able to lift 30–250 lbs. Flexible hours including weekends may be required; OT possible.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older; 21 years or older to drive
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance
• Able to perform repetitive and sustained physical exertions, including bending, lifting, kneeling, and exposure to vibrations
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires: passenger, light truck, large truck, and industrial
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles including:
• Perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Operate company vehicles safely, following all traffic and speed regulations
• Respond to service calls using a service truck (F-350) when necessary
• Load/unload inventory and assist with physical stock counts
• Use and maintain TPMS
• Follow all safety procedures, training guidelines, and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
